Letters to the Editor

Dear Editor

I visited the Public Notary Office in El Gouna last week and executed in less than 30 minutes a power of attorney related to boat registration, licencing and security permission.

I am pleased to say this is an excellent facility located at our door step, comparing to the alternative offices in Hurghada!!  It has clean and well appointed offices, no queues and helpful staff who seem to be keen to give good impression.

The facility currently operates on Sundays and Wednesdays each week between 9.00 am and 3.00 pm. They carry out all formal forms of general and private Powers of Attorneys and registration of official documents such as selling and purchasing of major items such as properties, cars, etc...  The opening hours could be extended if there is a justifiable demand by the community, a request could be made to the Ministry of Justice in case of such need at any time.

The office is located down town very close to Btech shops and next to Kan Zaman Restaurant, it is clearly signed as El Gouna Touristic Resort Public Notary, Egyptian Ministry of Justice.

I understood, Orascom has kindly provided the space, as well as all the fixtures and fittings for this operation, for the convenience of El Gouna Owners, Businesses and Community in general.  This is a wonderful and very encouraging step forward by Orascom, which we should recognise and appreciate. With your permission, I will write on behalf of the GOC member to the Orascom management, acknowledging and thanking them for their efforts and investment in the well being of owners on this occasion.

Regards

Maher El Faham
